1. Introduction
Writers Empire (“we”, “us”, “our”) is a private writing community based in London, United Kingdom.
These Legal Guidelines and User Agreement (“Agreement”) set out the rules for using our website, community spaces, workshops, programs, and resources (together, the “Services”).
By accessing or using our Services, you agree to follow this Agreement. If you do not agree, please do not use the site or become a member.
2. Community Guidelines
To keep Writers Empire safe, creative and respectful, you agree to:

If you quote or reference someone else’s work, credit them properly.

No plagiarism or AI‑generated misrepresentation

Do not present someone else’s work (including AI‑generated text) as your own original writing.

If you use tools to support your writing, you remain responsible for the final work.

No spam or self‑promotion overload

Limited, relevant self‑promotion is allowed in spaces clearly marked for it.

No mass messaging, unsolicited sales pitches, or irrelevant links.

Follow event and program rules
-
Respect time limits, submission deadlines, and participation rules for workshops, masterclasses, and programs.

Do not share paid materials (recordings, handouts, templates) outside the community.

We may remove content or restrict access if we believe these guidelines are broken.
3. Eligibility and Accounts

You must be at least 18 years old to join Writers Empire.

You are responsible for keeping your login details secure.

You are responsible for all activity that happens under your account.
-
You agree to provide accurate information and keep it up to date.
We may suspend or close accounts that break this Agreement or harm the community.
4. Membership, Payments and Cancellations
Some parts of Writers Empire are free; others require a paid membership, plan, or program fee.

We may change prices or features; changes will apply on renewal or for new purchases.

Billing and renewals

If you choose a recurring plan, you authorise us (and our payment providers) to charge your chosen payment method at each renewal period until you cancel.

If a payment fails, we may suspend or limit your access until payment is resolved.

Cancellations and refunds

You can manage or cancel your plan through your account or by contacting us.

Unless stated otherwise on the relevant plan or event page, fees are non‑refundable once a billing period or program has started, except where required by law.

For UK and EU consumers, your statutory rights (including any applicable cooling‑off periods) still apply.

We may add, remove, or change features, events, or programs.

If we make a significant change to a paid service you have already purchased, we will take reasonable steps to notify you.

5. Intellectual Property

You keep ownership of the writing and content you create and upload.

By posting or uploading content to Writers Empire, you grant us a non‑exclusive, worldwide, royalty‑free licence to host, display, and share it within the community and Services, only as needed to operate and improve the platform.

You can remove your content at any time, but copies may remain in backups or in other members’ private notes.

All site content, branding, designs, templates, guides, and materials created by or for Writers Empire are owned by us or our licensors.

You may not copy, distribute, sell, or adapt our materials outside your personal use, unless we give you written permission.

6. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:

Your continued use of the Services after changes take effect means you accept the updated terms.
