Book A Voyage Through Time by Warren Brown

Your ship is ready to sail from the first page

”One glance at a book and you hear the voice of another person, perhaps someone dead for 1,000 years. To read is to voyage through time.” – Carl Sagan

Every book is brimming with ideas,

Stories in prose and in rhyme.

Every page is one step into time,

Every voyage is an adventure some clime.

The book that you first opened,

Set you on your first great exploration.

You are set to ride on waves and seas,

Every day on a voyage of endless duration.

When we open a book to read,

In our minds we are planting seeds.

The thought of one mind with great ideas,

Can make music that lights the spheres.

Those who have lived and moved ahead,

Have left their stories to be read and re-read.

They speak to us through the ages like sages.

Their experiences help us to live and move ahead.

Every Book Is a Reflection by Warren Brown

A book reflects some part of you

A book in a reflection
A book in a reflection

” Books are mirrors: You only see in them what you already have inside you.”

– Carlos Ruiz Zafón, The Shadow of the Wind

We all have a favourite book,

That one special book we can read,

Re-read so many times, with great interest.

We enjoy every word, every sentence,

Every plot, every character and every twist.

There are some books that we can discard.

Yet, there are others we hold and cling on to.

In some books we find a part of ourselves.

A small fragment that is a reflection of what is true.

In other books we look through murky glass.

Those books are dark and are not for us.

We dispose of them without any noise or fuss.

Books are like mirrors in so many ways.

They are with us through so many nights and days.

Those special books are mirrors of contents and pages.

They somehow adhere themselves to us like glue.

Those rare books with their stories are like superglue.

All they do is cast reflections of our minds so true.

Inside those pages either old, new or on digital screens,

We find ourselves and recognize our human value.
