Managing Your Free Time

We know that time is so precious in life and we never seem to get enough of it. Yet, there are some people who appear to have a lot of time on their hands and yet do not do anything. Perhaps, by not doing anything with their time, they are doing something, which is the act of doing “nothing at all”.
At the end of a person’s life, time runs out for that person in this world. During their lifetime, people usually try to do whatever they can to live out their destiny, for some it is by doing a lot to change the world, for others they change and transform themselves. While there are others who are mere observers of life and appear to do nothing. Yet, I feel that even the person who does nothing is actually doing something, and is maintaining the balance for those who do the work of ten people.
Some individuals are born active and they lead lives filled with activities. While the thinkers, scientists, writers, poets and philosophers, lead slower lives yet they create works of art and substance that change minds and lives around the world and in society. Do you know people who do nothing, do a lot and those who make the most of the time they have?
When a person is young, they are busy and they have a hundred things to do within a day and it does seem the hours in a day are very short. When a person is middle-aged, they tend to slow down and do less of the activities they would do as younger individuals. When a person retires they spend more time resting and less time working. However, this is not true for all elderly individuals, as I have known several who do as much and more work than younger people. What do you do with your free time, do you have a hobby or do you prefer doing nothing at all?
How do you manage your time as a young person, a middle-aged person and as a retired elderly individual? Perhaps you have a list of things to do every day and then check them off your list, as the task is completed. You could be the type of person who completes the jobs that appear, as soon as they arrive. You could also be the person who delegates the jobs you have to do, to others who are employed to do them for you. Whatever, your time-management style maybe, we all realize the importance of managing time, which is a scarce commodity in human civilization.
